About Us

Who We Are

TACH (Touch A Child’s Heart) is a Kenyan-based community organization committed to mental health, psychosocial support, and human dignity.

Founded to serve vulnerable children, TACH has evolved to address the broader mental health needs of individuals, families, and communities—while remaining rooted in its original mission of care, protection, and hope.

Our Journey

TACH began with a focus on prevention—supporting school-going children through feeding programs, mentorship, and life-skills initiatives to reduce vulnerability and prevent street involvement. Over time, our work revealed a deeper and more urgent need: accessible mental health care. Many of the challenges faced by children were rooted in untreated trauma, family distress, and mental health conditions affecting caregivers and young adults. In response, TACH made a strategic shift toward mental health and psychosocial support—recognizing that healing the mind and heart is foundational to long-term change for both children and adults.

Why Our Name still Matters

The name Touch A Child’s Heart reflects a philosophy rather than an age limit. At TACH, we believe that every adult was once a child—and that unresolved pain often begins early in life. By supporting adults, caregivers, and young people, we indirectly touch the hearts of children and strengthen the environments in which they grow. Healing adults is part of protecting children. Mental health care is intergenerational work.
